Our representatives will be waiting for you at the Tribhuvan International Airport. They greet you and drive you to The Dwarika’s in a private luxury car. It is about 2.4 kilometers away and takes about 10 minutes to drive. After that, settle into your designated room and freshen up. We start the day with a delicious breakfast at The Dwarika’s and start our heritage tour. First, we drive to the Swayambhunath stupa also known as the Monkey temple. Here, we can see prayer wheels and small monasteries. After that, we leave for the Kathmandu Durbar Square / Basantapur Durbar Square.

We drive for about 10 to 15 minutes via a well-maintained blacktopped road. Here, we observe this former royal palace, its courtyard and its intricate Newari architecture. Moreover, we visit the Kumari bahal, which is the house of the Kumari (a young girl who is referred to as the living goddess).

Our tour further continues to the Patan Durbar Square; it takes us about 20 minutes of driving to reach it. Here, we explore the palace area, the Krishna mandir, and the Patan museum. Our guide will also take you on the artisan walk through Mulchowk, where you can observe the locals performing different metal works.

Thereafter, we head to Boudhanath stupa; it is one of the largest stupas in the world. Finally, we end the day with a peaceful sandhya aarati (a Hindu ritual of worship) at the holy Pashupatinath temple. At night, we return to The Dwarika’s.

We take an early morning domestic flight to Bhairawa. It takes us about 25 to 35 minutes to land at the Gautam Buddha Airport. Below, we can see the lush green hills, rivers, farmlands, forests and the flat lowlands. After that, we take a 30 to 45-minute drive to Lumbini via a blacktopped road with a few brief dirt paths and minor potholes.

The rest of the day, we will explore its key landmarks, like the Maya Devi Temple, Pushkarini pond, the monastic area, and the Ashoka pillar. Similarly, we will also visit the sacred garden, where Queen Maya Devi is believed to have given birth to Gautam Buddha. While visiting the Ashoka Pillar, the guide explains the inscriptions and their meaning.

Our next stop is the Changu Narayan Temple, the oldest temple in Nepal.

Guides explain its history and the stone inscriptions. Then we take an evening drive to the Club Himalaya by ACE Hotels.
